My work tries to re-cover the specialness of place by focussing in intimate detail on the overlooked. The images in this project are done using the darkroom technique of lith printing. The series as a whole explores a landscape that is familiar but hardly noticed – either because it is ‘too small’ or because it fails to be sufficiently ‘distinctive’. The area of West Yorkshire, especially Haworth, where I worked with this project, is familiar to me by Emily Bronte's famous novel ‘Wuthering Heights’, the place which I visited again and again seeking a sense of intimacy.
